What you may not know is that our very own Jeff Lewis was also a Project Trust volunteer in 1992 to 1993. And he recently attended a reunion in London.
Here’s what Jeff had to say:
“We have just had our 40 th anniversary reunion in London for Project Trust volunteers who were in Kenya from September 1982 to September 1983.
There were just over 50 of us in Kenya and after a lot of detective work managed to contact nearly all that were there with 29 of us managing to come along on the day.
It was wonderful to meet up again and find out what we’ve all been doing in the last 40 years plus reminiscing of our time teaching in local schools and enjoying Kenya to the full.
We all hope it’s not too long till we meet again.
I’m also delighted that we are sponsoring Thea. I learned a lot about another culture and made new friends too which stood me in good stead for later life. I’m sure Thea will benefit from the same experience”.
